Horse
Horses make magnificent pets and with the proper care, they can live up to 30 years or even longer. Caring for a horse is a long-term commitment that’s both great fun and incredibly rewarding.
All horses and ponies are different, but they always need a safe, secure pasture that’s stocked with fresh grass and hay for grazing; access to fresh water; and a dry, warm shelter to rest in during hot summers and cold winters.
Horses eat primarily roughage, like grass and hay, alongside small amounts of grains and vegetables.
Before taking on a horse, it’s important to understand the commitment that’s involved. You’ll have to check on them at least twice a day and clean out the stable and pasture on a regular basis. They also need plenty of interaction and socialisation, as well as exercise that’s suitable for their age, health and breed.
